Timber plant resources

For that approximately 70% of the state's area is covered by Amazon forest in different types, we can imagine that as the main product of which is wood, it is assumed that the timber resource would be the more important to consider its operation but even if we consider the infinite diversity of species characteristic of tropical forests, favored by high humidity, its vast network of rivers, etc..

Some species are considered precious woods: Araguaney, bay leaf, stick Brazil, shoemaker, ebony, which will soon be well as cedar and mahogany. Among those that have been exploited in Amazonas scored cedar, salt marupá Sasafrass, yellow wood, boar, paratur, laurel, macanilla, etc.. This operation is difficult because few avenues of penetration, also requested that each species is scattered among many in the jungle.

It is fortunate that it becomes difficult logging for industrial purposes, because we have already cited the technical studies that demonstrate the biological fragility of the Southern Region. Must be repeated once again that any exploitation of natural resources designated as renewable must be conditional on research, planning and strict vigilance to guard the system or ecological balance, preventing forest destruction, depending on the preservation of basins, quality and volume of water.

For preservation purposes the Ministry of Planning and Development, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources, and especially the National Parks Institute (INPARQUES), created in Amazonas three National Parks and Sipapo River Forest Reserve, the which includes Sipapo River watershed to the right bank of the Orinoco River. There is also the Special Regime Area Hoya Cataniapo River.
